How to Maintain Enviro-Loo Toilets

While Enviro-Loo (Enviro Loo) toilets are low maintenance, but they still do need some maintenance. Enviro-Loo toilets need to be inspected on a regular basis to see how much solid waste is left on the drying plate, and if it needs to be removed; how often is based on usage. It’s recommended that Enviro-Loo toiletsbe inspected on a regular basis for the first 3 – 6 months, until you get a good idea of the length of time between inspections and waste removal services thereafter. The removal service intervals could range from every 6 months to approximately every 3 years, depending on usage.

In the U.S., licensed septic haulers – like SES Company – are licensed to clean out Enviro-Loo toilets. The discharge is taken to a regulated location – municipal wastewater plant or licensed landfill by that licensed hauler. County and State regulations apply to the disposal of the waste removed from Enviro-Loo toilets.

While the drying plate inspection and waste removal won’t be needed too often, other parts of Enviro-Loo toilets should be checked often, sometimes weekly. The turbine needs to be checked to make sure it’s working, airflow vents/pipes need to be clean and clear so that air can circulate properly, the toilet pan needs to be cleaned, and the that the liquid level is below the tray.

You will need to clean the bowl of the Enviro-Loo toilet pan just like you clean traditional toilet bowl in your home – but only using an appropriate Enviro-Loo toilet cleaner. NO WATER, other liquids, chemicals, or additives should go into the Enviro-Loo toilet in order for the unit to work its best.
