Enviro-Loo – Sanitation Systems

Loudoun County Virginia has had the highest per capita income in the United States for seven of the last 10 years.

Construction of the newly opened Bolen Memorial Park to accommodate the growing need for soccer baseball football and softball fields should have been a no brainer. One thing stood in the way of construction – and that was where participants and spectators will use the bathroom.

The answer, the enviro-loo – supplied and constructed by SES Mid-Atlantic.

The enviro-Loo is a cost-effective self-contained dry sanitation system – with same day installation and operation, it is an outstanding alternative on-site sanitation system for areas without sewer, water, or septic services.

Applications include – but are not limited to –

Lots where the soil will not perc,
Places with aging infrastructure,
Land experiencing water shortages,
Failing septic systems,
Public parks,
Golf courses,
Work sites,
Athletic and recreational fields, and
Waterfront properties
Plans for Bolen Park had been developed in accordance with the county’s need for recreational spaces and in compliance with open space

requirements. Public sewer might have been available in three to five years and the soils on the property were not suitable for conventional or alternative system under Virginia regulations. 26 enviro-loo units were installed around the park in very upscale restroom buildings. The enviro-loo from SES allowed the park to open four years before sewer was available. Since installation of the enviro-loos, park users and maintenance personnel report the units operate with no odor and only routine maintenance. Pump outs are sometimes required for large events where twenty thousand people can visit the park in a week. At a cost of about $250,000, the total cost for the enviro-loos and restroom buildings were about 30 percent less than the cost of installing public sewer and a pump station or a large alternative septic system. In addition, the enviro-loo’s are a greener solution as the waste is evaporated by natural processes and no electricity or fuel is used as required for pump and haul or treatment at the waste water plant.

How does the Enviro-Loo work?

It uses natural processes to manage human waste: negative pressure creates ventilation which along with Sun-powered evaporation and dehydration destroys disease-causing pathogens in a completely sealed system. The self-sustaining Enviro-Loo -a unique sanitation system- offers amazing benefits, such as:

No removal, relocation or replacement,
Operation without water or power,
Completely odorless,
No chemicals,
Safe and non-polluting,
No infrastructure requirements,
Zero leakage or water seepage,
Maintenance and servicing costs of less than a penny a day,
No health risks, and it
Meets health and operational requirements of all governmental authorities.
The Enviro-Loo has a lightweight prefabricated, easily installed, top structure -suitable for remote locations.

A specific surround our top structure can also be designed to match existing facilities. Multiple units can be installed if your situation calls for separate or high traffic facilities.

A local example is Bolen Park in Leesburg VA, with 17 athletic fields and recreational activities over 405 acres this Enviro-Loo installation serves hundreds of visitors every day at low cost with no environmental impact.

You can see why in Enviro-Loo technology gained worldwide exposure after winning the 2005 Intel environment award. Now the Enviro-Loo is made in America and distributed in 23 countries. The spreading global success of the Enviro-Loo proves it is a cost-effective environmentally sustainable sanitation system for many applications.

If you need a septic waste solution for an unconventional or difficult location call SES and explore the enviro-loo today.
