Petroleum Spill or Leak Remediation

If you don't have adequate finances to have an underground storage tank removed properly, do not try and shortcut the process or hide your leak. In Virginia you will likely qualify for assistance from the Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund which can reimburse you for clean up of petroleum related contamination. The fund does not reimburse tank removal, repair or replacement costs but does cover all eligible cleanup costs. The financial responsibility requirement for home heating oil tanks is one small deductible per occurrence. The fund administrators require copies of applicable homeowner insurance documents and if your insurance covers the cost the fund does not.
